Happy Holidays are Here!

Dear Parents / Guardians of students in Room 201,

Thank you so much for the generous and thoughtful gifts the children gave me this week, and for your contributions to our classroom’s winter celebration.

It has been a wonderful year so far here at Vradenburg. I was very happy to meet with all of you and discuss your child’s progress so far. I have a fantastic group of students who make every day of teaching enjoyable for me. I am very proud of each and every student’s efforts this year.

During the winter break, I recommend that my students finish reading their novel study book, and complete the good copy of their Hockey Hall of Fame Writing Challenge essay. This is the only homework I am assigning for the break, as it is important that the children also use these two weeks to rest and recharge for the learning they will do in the new year.

Over the holidays, please remind your children to play safely, especially outside. There have been recent warnings for children to not play in snow banks, and stay away from the edges of streams and frozen lakes, as there will be higher temperatures causing melting and flooding. I look forward to seeing all of my students return safely to school on January 7, 2008.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!

Mr. G. Wood
Grade 5/6 Teacher
Vradenburg Jr. P.S.
